Groupthink: when the desire for group consensus overrides a person's common sense desire to present alternatives, critique a position, or express an unpopular opinion.
There is nothing more endangered than a free thought.
We live in a world conditioned into mimicry and regurgitation. Free thinking is extinct within mainstream circles. Even on alternative platforms, it is commonplace to see the same ideas repeated without a thought of originality. It becomes a war between polarized viewpoints, leaving there to be no room for ambiguity in a world of black and white.
True creativity can only be fostered through presence, a state of awareness that requires you to bravely confront the limitations of your mind.
Some questions to consider:
Are your thoughts your own? If not, where did they originate from?
What exists beyond the ideological viewpoints you have become comfortable living inside of?
Are you expressing from the mind or the heart?
Groupthink is a phenomenon that impacts a large majority of the population, including many within “freedom communities.”
Just because you are against mainstream ideologies does not mean you are thinking on your own.
What original thoughts do YOU have about yourself, your community, and the world at large?
Escaping the mental prison of groupthink requires you to take a renegade approach with your mind. You must become a lone-wolf in your opinions.
Do not believe something just because myself, David Icke, Joe Biden, Don Lemon, Joe Rogan, your parents, or a random Uber driver said it to you. Regardless of how well you know an individual, continue to use your discernment in all new pieces of information that come into your awareness.
You cannot expect somebody to get it all right, including yourself. Free thinking means accepting you won’t always know the correct answer, if one even exists.
Find time to observe the silence, where originality lies and the only space available for proper discernment of the truth.
Comment below: What percentage of the population do you believe is caught in groupthink? Do you believe this is something we all are prone to? If so, how can we avoid it? Lastly, how does one escape this mental prison and can you ever be too far gone in ideology?
