Starving Gaza
A new Al Jazeera documentary sheds light on the war crimes being committed against Palestine at the hands of Israel and the United States
A few weeks ago, Al Jazeera released a powerful documentary called Starving Gaza, exposing Israel’s use of starvation and famine as a weapon in its ongoing assault on Gaza.
The film highlights the daily struggle of Gaza's doctors as they try to save malnourished children and infants in conditions where medical supplies and basic necessities are intentionally withheld. This deprivation has become a brutal tactic, one that undoubtedly meets the definition of genocide.
Equally troubling is the role of the United States in enabling these conditions. The Biden administration’s State Department has sought to downplay or outright deny the reality of blocked humanitarian aid, despite the consensus of its own experts. This denial allows the U.S. to bypass its legal prohibitions on supplying arms to countries that commit gross human rights violations, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. The choice to block or restrict critical aid to Palestinians has led to widespread suffering, raising questions of accountability for both Israel and the United States under international law.
In circumventing these restrictions, the United States is complicit in actions that amount to war crimes.
Innocent men, women, and children are being slaughtered, funded through our tax dollars. Meanwhile, we sit at home and fight about two presidential candidates who both plan to continue this genocide.
This film brings a needed human element to the Palestine discussion.
See for yourself just who is being targeted in this genocide.
