Power resides where men believe it resides.

When you look up at the rulers in their high castle,
what do you see?
Is their power an actuality,
or a trick of perception keeping you deceived?
The wielders of the sword,
are they truly so high and mighty?
What would happen if we stopped petitioning to authority,
and simply lived as if we were free?
Our servitude to a system is our belief,
as is the hierarchy perpetrating a divide.
The spell of belief is cast in lies,
a cloud of illusion we’ve covered over our eyes.
Power aligns to the beliefs of our collective mind.
It’s a game of trickery by design.
When you look up at their castle,
you’re not meant to see what’s inside.
A remembrance of our power,
it’s here for all of us to find.
But we must must stop pretending
the game of power is too ingrained within us to die.

It’s a timeless trick that has ruled the masses since the dawn of civilization. The pretend notion of power, instilled through the use of fear, has led for individuals to make the choice to give up their own freedom for the comfortable illusion their rulers will take care of them.
How long will we pretend our rulers actually hold power?
What will it take for us to realize that begging them for our freedom is the only green light they need to continue to serve as our masters?
